A hypothetical calculation, not a prediction or evidence of Think First's effectiveness. Yearly totals use 365 days. Useful screen time is not automatically time wasted.
From a goal to a deliberate pause
Built-in app limits on iPhone and Android are a free starting point. Think First adds a pause before selected apps: protect three apps for free. Daily limits, scheduled focus and Hard Mode are Premium. This plan does not transfer automatically into the app.
Formula and example
Convert all seven daily entries to minutes and add them together. Divide the total by seven for the daily average. Yearly hours = daily minutes × 365 ÷ 60.
Example: five days at 3 hours and two days at 4 hours total 23 hours per week, or about 3 hours 17 minutes per day.
Where to find your actual numbers
iPhone: Settings → Screen Time → See All App & Website Activity. Android: Settings → Digital Wellbeing & parental controls; labels vary by manufacturer. Use a complete period and choose either the whole device or a single app.
Why is this different from my phone's report?
Check the same period and devices. An ongoing day is not complete yet. Do not add whole-device time and individual app time together: app time is already included in the device total.
How do I calculate average screen time?
Add the screen time for seven complete days and divide by seven. For the weekday average, divide the Monday-to-Friday total by five; for the weekend, divide the Saturday-and-Sunday total by two.
Is my screen time average too high?
The number alone cannot tell you whether your use is helpful. Separate school, work and conversations from scrolling you meant to stop. A longer weekend may simply mean more free time, not necessarily a problem.
